Work Performance Indicators
Maximising the contribution of the workforce towards the achievement of organisational
objectives is a key challenge for all HR practitioners. The workforce has to be
positively engaged with the culture and goals of the organisation. It has to be
proactively managed, so that its composition, capability and commitment are aligned
with the organisation's strategy and business plan.
The annual Workforce Performance Indicators Survey comprises a broad set of data
analysis, including:
- absence levels and the reasons for non attendance at work
- staff turnover levels and the reasons why employees typically leave an organisation
- workforce diversity, in terms of age, disability, ethnicity, gender and hours worked
- numbers and types of disciplinary and grievance cases, plus applications to tribunal
- workforce communication and consultation practices and their perceived effectiveness
- workforce satisfaction indices
In our Reports, the survey data is analysed by organisation size i.e. for "large"
(1,000 or more employees) and "small" organisations (less than 1,000 employees). For
some metrics, further analysis is presented for Managerial/Professional and
Operational/Support Staff.
