HR Performance Indicators
A major challenge for HR practitioners is to influence the thinking and decision making
of the Board and Senior Managers. To achieve this, the HR team has to ensure that it is
focused on addressing the goals which are important to the organisation. There is no
shortage of research to demonstrate that sound and aligned HR practices help organisations
improve their performance. So, as well as influencing, the HR team also has to deliver!
The annual HR Performance Indicators Survey comprises a broad set of data analysis, including:
- the numbers and paybill costs of the HR team, relative to the size of the organisation
- the time allocated to different HR activities and their perceived effectiveness
- the role performed by the HR team
- the level of HR activity which is outsourced
- the investment made in both recruitment and training activities
In our Reports, the survey data is analysed by organisation size i.e. for "large"
(1,000 or more employees) and "small" organisations (less than 1,000 employees).
For some metrics, further analysis is provided according to employee category i.e.
Managerial/Professional and Operational/Support Staff.
